Ukulele is a gentle first instrument: small, light, and quick to play songs. Children can start from about age 5 on soprano. Adults usually prefer concert. After the first month you can stay on ukulele, move to Guitar Classes, or begin graded study.

Trinity Grade 8 classical guitar. Children from about 5 on soprano, and adults on concert.
Lessons stay small so chord shapes and strumming can be corrected in the room, or on live video with both hands in frame. The same teacher if you later move to Guitar Classes.

Four chords cover the first-month song list. That is the work of four weekly classes.
Then guitar or grades
Stay on ukulele, move to Guitar Classes from about 7, or begin Trinity or ABRSM pieces.
Child and adult classes
Soprano for small hands. Concert for adult hands. Both sizes are tried in the lesson.
Soprano versus concert
Same G C E A tuning. Concert is a little longer. Try both in the lesson before you buy.
Soprano About 53 cm. Children from about 5.
Concert About 58 cm. Most adults settle here.

The smallest common size. Bright, light, and kind to small hands.
